Top 6 Outdoor Activities To Try This Summer

It should come as no surprise that summer is the time of year that that most people do some kind of activity in the outdoors. Everybody seems to love sunshine, beaches and a fresh summer breeze. If you are out of ideas of what to do this summer, or if you are simply looking ty try something new, here is a list of 6 outdoor activities that you should try this summer.

1. Canoeing

Canoeing is great fun for everyone in the family. It's something everybody can enjoy, no matter fitness level. It is also a great way to explore new surroundings and bonding. If you go canoeing with your family you will all come home with memories for life. Canoeing is also a great way to improve aerobic fitness as well as body strength.

2. Running

While running certainly isn't limited to summer only, but summer sure makes it more enjoyable. Running is known for its massive health benefits, but did you know that runners have longer life expectancy compared to non-runners? Running is also one the most inexpensive and convenient sports there is. You only have to put on your running shoes and walk out the door and you can get started. Running also helps you sleep better.

3. Cycling

Cycling has similar health benefits as running, but since you are able to cycle further distances you also get to see more things. Cycling is a great mean of transportation that is good for the planet. It is also a great way to get fit without trying so hard.

4. Swimming

Swimming in the outdoors is something I hope everyone gets to enjoy this summer. Swimming in summer is such a great way to cool down during a hot day, and it is also a great cross training for your body.

5. Hiking

Hiking is similar to canoeing since both are great family fun. Hiking is more affordable than canoeing since you don't really need any special equipment. Hiking in nature is also a great time to reflect and put nature in perspective. Make sure to put your phone in flight mode in order to really disconnect from everyday life.

6. Enjoy life!

The most important activity of all is to remember to enjoy life. In the end, good health and happiness is all that matters. Remember to just enjoy the now and be grateful for what you have. Remember that experiences matters more than possessions and some people may have everything but they still feel poor. Some other may have fewer but they feel abundant. Now go out there and enjoy! :)
