OMG... It fits!

Lessons learned... After 20 years away I am skiing again along with a grandson boarder. Hard to insist a kid wear a helmet while you are wearing a 20+ year old polar fleece hat from Pico Mountain. And I now see everyone DOES wear helmets, not just the crazies. Measured my head... just a tad over 23. inches so the standard LARGE should fit fine. BUT it doesn''t... Helmet #1 painfully crushed my ears. Helmet #2 by definition ''fits'' but it feels like it is sitting on my head, rather than my head fitting into the helmet. So I order Helmet #3 Outdoor Master GARNET model. Slightly different style with the upper and lower design? The minute I pulled it on it was a winner. My head actually fits into the helmet. The other choices measured correctly but were narrow. This GARNET model seems more round thus fits my head better. The GARNET model has features I now know I want.... comfortable ear pads, comfortable chin strap, easy buckle, okay goggle strap clip, a slight visor to rest googles on, washable liner, and of course adjustable venting! As a bonus the two tone (Blue/black) does have a bit of an upgrade look. I have some good quality Scott googles and some cheapie goggles as well... both fit fine with this helmet. It was exciting to get a helmet that fits!
