iSUPWorld Review: OutdoorMaster Shark II Electric Pump
Repost from iSUP World
I have been using this pump for a couple of years now and love it. It is definitely one of the best electric pumps I have tried for easily inflating an inflatable SUP.
If you have an inflatable paddle board chances are after inflating it a few times manually you’re going to want to make things a little easier on yourself and use an electric pump instead.
The truth is I used a hand pump for years. Sure it was a bit of work to inflate my boards but I didn’t think too much of it.
When I finally tried an electric pump several years ago, there was no turning back
Inflating your paddle board with a high-pressure electric pump eliminates the sweat and hard work before getting on the water.
You can just attach the hose to the valve on your board, set the PSI level and let it do its thing. It’s way easier!
I’ve tried most of the electric SUP pumps on the market but have found that only a couple actually work really well.
They all seem to have their issues. Either they’re too slow, they don’t connect to the valve properly or they overheat and break down. I’ve had many pumps sadly burnout.
In the past none of them have been perfect but I made do because they were still better to use than manually pumping multiple boards to 15 PSI with the hand pump.
"Fast forward to the current day and we finally have some great options for reliable electric pumps for inflatable SUP’s. The Shark II is a good one and if you have an ISUP, this pump is a great option and will make life so much easier."

IMPORTANT FEATURES
2 MINUTE VIDEO
The video below is a quick overview of the Shark II electric pump as I inflate my board.
WORKS GREAT & SIMPLE TO USE
The Shark quite simply works great. It easily plugs in to the 12V DC connector in your vehicle as opposed to the car battery like many others.
Plus it is lightweight, easy to carry with the built-in handle and very portable.
However its best feature and what makes it stand out is that it has a built-in cooling system so that it doesn’t overheat and burnout.
OutdoorMaster claims it can inflate up to 3 boards in a row and during my use that has proven to be true.
SPECS
FEATURE OVERVIEW
The Shark II electric pump for 2022 has some great features.
DIGITAL DISPLAY
The digital display is easy to read and allows you to set your target air pressure and watch the progress.
BUILT-IN CARRY HANDLE
The built-in carry handle is a nice touch. The handle makes it easy to carry and transport.
FROST ACTIVE COOLING SYSTEM
The upgraded cooling system works better than ever.
I won’t claim to understand exactly how this cooling system is designed but I can tell you that it works.
If the pump starts to get hot from working so hard the cooling system kicks in and cools it down so that it can keep performing as it should.
If you are inflating multiple boards I would suggest letting the cooling system do it’s job for a minute or so in between inflating each board so that it is able to cool properly and keep on working.
In OutdoorMaster’s words:”The Internal Patent Structure with Unique FACS provide ultra fast cooling under 3-digit temperature condition.”
INFLATE UP TO 20 PSI
Whereas many electric pumps for ISUP’s can only inflate up to 15 PSI, this one can go right up to 20 PSI.
To be honest I rarely inflate my boards past 15 PSI anyway but it’s nice to have the option.
DUAL-STAGE MOTOR
This pump has two stages.
1. The first stage is for maximum speed at 350L per minute.
2. The second stage is for maximum pressure at 70L per minute.
When you first start the pump it begins in the first stage and will inflate your board until it reaches 1 PSI.
At around the 1 minute mark it switches to the second stage to finish off the job and inflate the board to your desired target pressure.
You’ll know that it has switched because the second stage is a little noisier.
AUTO SHUTOFF
Another really important feature is that it shuts off automatically when it reaches the set PSI level.
So you can hook it up, hit the power button and leave it. You don’t need to hold the hose to the valve or touch the pump at all, it works completely hands-free.
SPEED
As far as speed goes the Shark is one of the faster electric pumps I’ve tried.
To inflate an average sized inflatable SUP (11’2″ x 31″ x 6″) it takes 7 minutes and 22 seconds, which is quite good. I have reviewed some painfully slow electric pumps that take 16 minutes or more to inflate a paddle board!
I found that depending on the size of the inflatable SUP the Shark took between 6 min. and 30 sec. to 9 minutes. I haven’t seen it go over 9 minutes yet after inflating multiple different ISUP’s.
With the Shark you will be on the water faster than ever.
PUTTING IT TO THE TEST
I decided to really put the Shark II electric pump to the test and inflate four inflatable SUP’s in a row to 15 PSI to see how it handled the job.
I inflated the first two boards then let the pump rest for a couple minutes so that the active cooling system could do it’s job. I then inflated the next two boards.
Whereas other electric pumps would have just overheated and burned out, the Shark was able to cool down in a very short period of time and keep going. Total success!
Plus it didn’t slow down. Each board took only 7 mins and 25 seconds max to inflate if not less.
NOISE LEVEL
The noise level isn’t bad, I’ve definitely heard noisier. Electric pumps for inflatable SUP’s tend to be quite powerful so none of them are super quiet.
Once the pump goes into the second stage of inflation it does gets noisier.
PACKAGE INCLUDES
The package comes with everything you need to inflate most inflatable SUP’s, as well as most air mattresses, inflatable boats, inflatable kayaks, tents and inflatable beds.
The package includes the Shark electric pump as well as:
- 9 ft DC Power Cord
- 4.5 ft Hose
- 4 Valve Connectors
- 4 Gaskets
- 1 Manual
MULTIPLE VALVE CONNECTORS
You get the main H3 valve connector which is the one you would use for an inflatable SUP.
You also get a Boston valve, a C7 valve and a pinch valve connector.
I review a lot of different inflatable paddle boards and so far this pump has worked perfectly with every single one of them.
CAR CONNECTOR
It includes a 9 foot power cord that connects to the 12V DC Connector in your vehicle that features a 12A fuse for safety. Super easy plug in, you don’t have to worry about alligator clips and connecting to a car battery.
LONG HOSE
The hose that connects to the pump and to the valve on your board is 4.5 feet long and very durable.
I’ve had cheaper versions of these hoses on other pumps melt before! No chance of that happening with this one.
WARRANTY
The Shark has a 90-day return policy and a 1-year warranty.
I haven’t heard of any major issues with this pump and mine has been working great for a two years now. Still using the same pump and inflating lots of paddle boards.
IN SUMMARY
The Outdoormaster Shark II electric pump is awesome. If you have an inflatable SUP go for the splurge and get yourself an electric pump.
The Shark basically allows you to get on the water without breaking a sweat.
The only thing really missing from this package is a carry bag. It’s too bad it doesn’t come with one but I just keep mine in my gear bag.
I have recommended this pump to many of my paddleboarding friends. It’s a must have!
