I got this for my kid's track meets. Sitting in the middle of a football field for 4 or 5 hours in mid-July leaves me tired and sunburned. We saw another family set up something like this and had to have one.

If you've ever set up a tent or picnic shelter, this is no different. It's 2 long segmented tubed that go through 2 long fabric channels, and then get seated into a boot while providing structure to the tent. Doable alone, but much easier with a second set of hands.

Size-wise, it's similar to a 1 person tent. 3 of us can sit inside away from the sun with no problem.

The 2 larger sides can zip all the way open or closed. The 2 smaller sides are mesh windows. You can get good airflow if there's a breeze. There are built-in sandbags you can fill so you aren't chasing this thing across the field.

Setup is pretty quick and easy, be careful with the pole tube that is made of mesh material as it tends to snag up on the pole, it fits easily back into its stuff sack, and don't assume this will keep you dry in a rain, because thats not what its designed for. but for providinga bit of shade its not bad.

This OutdoorMaster sun shade shelter / tent is very light weight, so is compact and light to carry (as shown in the product posting). I've never had a beach tent like this but have had several other camping style tents ranging from small ones to giant family tents.
- The instructions for this tent are fastened to the carrying bag. They are easy to understand, and I was able to set it up in less than 10 minutes with the help of my nine-year-old daughter. It is basically two flexible tent poles, like on many tents, and there are tabs the ends of the poles slip into for easy set up. The same tabs have separate holes for tent spikes if needed.
- It comes with everything needed to set it up, including two kinds of spikes and the cord for additional staking in windier conditions.
- It is plenty large enough for me to lay down in lengthwise (I am 5'10") with room to spare. There should be plenty of room for our beach stuff with room to sit and/or move around, like when changing clothes.
- It can be private or open thanks to it opening all the way up on the two long sides and two screened windows on the short sides. The windows can be "closed" with the hooks provided for that purpose.
- There are some features this tent has that show careful thought about its design. These include: Tabs on the "doors" so that when they are laid flat, they can be staked down so they don't blow around. Fasterners that allow me to roll up the window coverings neatly, so they are not just hanging down when the screened window is open. Sand bag pockets on all four corners so that the tent can be held down with sand instead of or in addition to tent stakes. Double zippers on both doors (the zippers work great, by the way). And storage pockets inside the tent.

I am impressed with this tent overall as it is a comfortable tent for two adults and a child out for a day at the beach!

Setup was quick, sliding the tent poles into the sleeves is a bit easier with a second set of hands if the day is extra windy, but can still be done single-handed.

* External weighting bags are located to the left and right exterior of the tent.
* Both doors feature dual zipper closure.
* A window at each side is closed with nylon loop and plastic pins and likewise when opened the window can be secure to the lower window area by the same method.
* The front & rear doors when open can be staked down to create added siting area.
* The polyester rip-stop material used in the construction is light weight and reasonably durable.
* Fiberglass hall poles assemble easily.
* The internal surface of the tent features white color which will mitigate radiated heat.
* The polyester material is highly water repellent.
* Wind rope loops are located externally for easy staking to secure the tent in location.

This is a great beach OR light duty camping tent, although I think it would best serve the beach environment.
It is very light and compact when stowed in it's storage bag, you can carry easily or if need to strap if to your waist-belt if longer hikes are required to reach your camp-site.
Going to test it out at Salton Sea next weekend!

This is a great beach tent. It’s lightweight & easy to carry. .
There’s 2 doors with zippers.
The instructions are sewn into the case so you never lose them.
Set up time was 5 minutes.
Take down time was 6 minutes.
This will be a great thing to have around for guests (or ourselves) going to the beach.
